Specialists from libraries in Astrakhan, Minsk, Mogilev, and Vitebsk, Republic of Belarus, took part in an international online seminar "Library as a Platform for New Opportunities", where they presented their projects. The event was organized by the Centralized Astrakhan City Library System.
Irina Markova, librarian at the Marketing, Social and Cultural Activities and Methodological Work Department of the Mogilev Central City Library named after Karl Marx, shared her experience working with the Internet and how modern technology is changing the way librarians interact with readers.
Leading librarian of the Marketing Department of the Yanka Kupala Central Library in Minsk Karolina Truhan shared her experience in popularizing literature through online resources. Sofya Zakharova, Head of the Mogilev Children's library branch No. 9 named after Yanka Kupala, spoke about the promotion of the children's library in the virtual space with the help of a personal brand. Svetlana Zueva, Head of the library branch No. 9 named after S. Marshak Vitebsk, shared her experience in implementing the literary project "How to become a writer". The library publishes the magazine "Rodnichok", the authors of which are young readers.
In turn, the Astrakhan colleagues spoke about the successful practices of their events.
Yuliana Nikulina, an employee of Astrakhan Branch Library No. 1, said that in the classes of the YULA Animation Studio, young readers create cartoons on their own, participating in all stages of production: from writing a script to showing it to the audience. YULA Studio was among the winners of the federal project "Genius of the Place" in the field of cinema and animation.
Natalia Tatarintseva, Media Center Sector Head at the Astrakhan Central City Library, told the audience about her experience with brainstorming sessions. A series of business games in which participants develop and present their own cultural projects has become very popular among young readers of the library.
Maria Ivankina, Head of the Methodological and Bibliographic Department of the Astrakhan Central City Library, spoke about her experience of organizing failure conferences. During the event, speakers shared stories of mistakes and failures in their work and the audience asked questions. This format was successful and received a positive response from participants.
Librarians from Astrakhan and Belarus are planning to hold the next online seminar on April 2nd, the Day of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus. Participants will discuss the topic: "International Innovation Laboratory "Library: The Territory of Creating New Meanings." An international webinar on the theme "The Great Victory: Library as a Place of Memory" will be held with the participation of experts from centralized library networks of Astrakhan, Minsk, Mogilev, and Vitebsk.
