Astrakhan and Vitebsk medical students discuss approaches to treating cardiovascular diseases

In Astrakhan, another online meeting of the Young Scientists' Societies of Astrakhan State Medical University and Vitebsk State Order of Peoples' Friendship Medical University of the Republic of Belarus took place, dedicated to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus. Opening the meeting, Elena Chernysheva, Head of the Department of Cardiology at Astrakhan State Medical University, and the Vice-Rector for Research at Vitebsk State Order of Peoples' Friendship Medical University noted that this holiday symbolizes the strong friendship between the fraternal states, which are developing multifaceted cooperation in various spheres, including education. They also emphasized the importance of the work of Young Scientists' Societies in Russian and Belarusian medical universities for enhancing the training level of future doctors. For several years, Astrakhan State Medical University has been actively developing partnership relations with leading educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus. Cooperation agreements have been signed and are being successfully implemented with the Belarusian State Medical University, Vitebsk State Order of Peoples' Friendship Medical University, and Mogilev Medical College. Students and faculty of Astrakhan State Medical University participate in international scientific-practical conferences, olympiads, and other events held in Belarus. Alexander Kiselev, a resident at the Department of Cardiology of Astrakhan State Medical University, presented a report entitled "What Lies Behind the Mask of Infective Endocarditis?" (Scientific supervisor: Elena Chernysheva, Head of the Department of Cardiology at the Faculty of Postgraduate Education, Doctor of Medical Sciences). Alina Chertkova, a fifth-year student at Vitebsk State Order of Peoples' Friendship Medical University, presented a report "Infarction Equals ECG Changes?", prepared under the guidance of Olga Muzyka, Senior Lecturer at the Department of General Medical Practice, Master of Medical Sciences. The presentation examined the specifics of diagnosing myocardial infarction and the role of electrocardiography in detecting this disease. The reviewed clinical cases generated lively interest among the meeting participants and served as the basis for further active discussion of current issues in cardiology practice. In conclusion, faculty and students from the Astrakhan and Vitebsk medical universities discussed future cooperation plans.
