Astrakhan State Medical University has become a member of the Russian-Kyrgyz Consortium of Medical Universities. This opens new mechanisms and opportunities for collaboration with leading specialized educational institutions in both countries.

The Russian-Kyrgyz Consortium of Medical Universities was established in October 2024. It currently includes 8 universities from Russia (from Moscow, Dagestan, Krasnoyarsk, Astrakhan, Nizhny Novgorod, Kursk, and Omsk) and 18 from Kyrgyzstan. The consortium aims to develop cooperation in medical education, implement international-level scientific projects through the collaboration of leading medical and pharmaceutical research and educational centers in Russia and Kyrgyzstan, advance healthcare, and facilitate knowledge exchange through digital technologies and telemedicine.

An important step in strengthening cooperation will be the Russian-Kyrgyz Scientific and Practical Forum, scheduled for this autumn. Representatives of Astrakhan State Medical University will present the results of their research and discuss modern approaches to patient treatment at the forum.

Currently, Astrakhan State Medical University is an active participant in several international consortia, implementing joint projects, including as part of the Russian-African Network University and the Russian-Chinese Association of Medical Universities.
