In the 2024–2025 academic year, more than 70 international students successfully completed their studies at Astrakhan State Technical University (ASTU), earning their long-awaited bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Seventy years ago, the first foreign student arrived to study at the Astrakhan Technical Institute of Fisheries, and today, ASTU is home to over 2,200 students from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Haiti, Angola, Guinea, Chad, Morocco, Ghana, Cameroon, Vietnam, and other countries.
"International students pursue a wide range of fields – from computer science, economics, and management to law, service and tourism, physical education, and sports," said Evgenia Yukina, Head of the International Department at ASTU. "After graduation, they become sought-after specialists who contribute to the development of various industries in their home countries."
"My years at ASTU not only allowed me to thoroughly master the fundamentals of 'Finance and Credit' but also to explore the sights of Astrakhan and learn about the culture, traditions, and customs of the peoples living in the Lower Volga region," emphasized Pleusimieu Efes, a graduate of ASTU’s Institute of Economics and Law from Haiti. "Studying at ASTU has been a valuable experience for me."
As a result of their studies, the most outstanding students received certificates of honor for their achievements in academic, cultural, athletic, and social activities at the university.
