Representatives from over 40 Russian and international companies, including those supplying seeds, planting materials, plant protection products, fertilizers, and agricultural machinery, as well as representatives from educational and scientific institutions, agricultural producers, credit and insurance firms, and processing enterprises are taking part in the international exhibition and conference "Seeds, Plant Protection Products, Agrotechnologies. Astrakhan 2025" The event is taking place in Astrakhan from February 13th to 14th.
A delegation from the Atyrau Region of Kazakhstan, led by Deputy Akim Marat Murziyev, attended the event. The delegation consists of heads of government agencies responsible for agriculture, entrepreneurship, and industry development, as well as representatives from local farms.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Astrakhan Region Ilya Volynsky noted that our region occupies a leading position in terms of production of vegetable and melon products in Russia. It is also one of the top five regions for potato production and among the top ten for rice cultivation.
Deputy Akim of the neighboring border region Marat Murziyev has praised the participation of representatives from the Atyrau Region in the international exhibition and conference held in Astrakhan, calling it a good tradition.
Negotiations took place during which Ilya Volynsky, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan Region, discussed cooperation in trade, economic and humanitarian spheres with Kazakh colleagues. The meeting was attended by Minister of External Relations of the Astrakhan Region Vladimir Golovkov, Minister of Agriculture and Fishing Industry of the Astrakhan Region Sergey Eskov, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Energy of the Astrakhan Region Vitaliy Shchepin, President of the Astrakhan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Stanislav Sinchenko, and Consul General of Kazakhstan in Astrakhan Kanat Khasenov.
A round table was also held within the framework of the exhibition where representatives of the authority of the Astrakhan Region and heads of regional agricultural institutions discussed cooperation issues with Deputy Akim of the Atyrau Region Marat Murziyev and members of the delegation from Kazakhstan's border region.
Deputy Akim of the Atyrau Region Marat Murziyev stressed that although the Atyray Region is a large oil and gas producing region in Kazakhstan, much attention has been paid to the development of agriculture. Due to the introduction of advanced technologies in vegetable growing, yields and area under cultivation are increasing year on year. More than 1700 farms breed pedigree livestock farming.
Following the roundtable discussion, the participants exchanged contact information and agreed to collaborate in various areas.
In the afternoon, representatives from the Atyrau Region met with Astrakhan business representatives at the Astrakhan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Participants presented their capabilities and discussed opportunities for cooperation in industry and agriculture.
