Export shipments of vegetable oil from the Astrakhan terminal to Iran have begun

Kourush Agro Terminal LLC (Astrakhan), a subsidiary of Kourosh Food Industry& (Iran), has started exporting vegetable oil from Russia from its port terminal.

According to the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Energy of the Astrakhan Region, 405,000 tons of vegetable oil, 180,000 tons of corn and 270,000 tons of grist are planned to be shipped to Iran through the Kourush Agro Terminal in 2025.

The port terminal with an area of about 16,000 sq. m with a berth and storage facilities, located on the left bank of the Krivaya Bolda River near the Northern Bypass of Astrakhan, was acquired by the company in 2023. Investments in the development of the port amounted to 250 million rubles.

Reconstruction of the terminal and railway tracks is planned in the future. The company's budget for the next four years provides for 900 million rubles of development investments.

Kourosh Food Industry& is a large agricultural holding company in Iran. The company owns three vegetable oil processing plants, 2,000 superstores, two poultry farms and three cattle breeding enterprises. Kourosh Food Industry& produces 22 types of oils, poultry and cattle meat. Currently, it is considering the possibility of building a complex for the cultivation and processing of oilseeds in the Astrakhan Region.
