390 international students from 32 countries have successfully completed their studies at the Astrakhan State Medical University in the fields of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy. Of these, 24 students received honors diplomas. At the solemn meeting of the academic сouncil, the graduates took the Hippocratic Oath.
Sergei Poroisky, Acting Rector of the Astrakhan State Medical University, addressed the heroes of the occasion with parting words.
"You have overcome another and very important milestone in your life. During your years of studying at our university, you have had joys and hardships, difficult but unforgettable bright student days and holidays, you have made new friends, goals and the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve them, the trajectory of your future career has become clear," he noted. "Believe in yourself, in your strength, do not lose your perseverance and ambition. Be happy in the difficult and noble profession you have chosen. Remember that the doors of your alma mater are always open for you and here you will always find advice and support."
For their achievements in studies, scientific and social activities, the names of Rania Gazzah, Zaineb Khediri (Tunisia), Sabrina Adrar (Algeria) and Ghizlan Arrais (Morocco) were included in the Book of Honor “Golden Fund of Students of the Astrakhan State Medical University”.
Pankajavalli Balaji Anirudh Sriram (India), Amin Sherif Mohamed, Ali Hamri Mohamed (Tunisia) and Hatim Najih (Morocco) received Certificates of Honor and personalized T-shirts for their high sporting achievements and participation in competitions of various scales throughout their years of study.
The graduation ceremony had a festive atmosphere. The students thanked their teachers and parents.
"During my years of study at the Astrakhan State Medical University, I realized that the most important thing is to never stop dreaming and striving for your goal. I will never forget how we prepared for exam sessions and participated in student evenings. And now it is a little sad that these moments will not happen again," Shokhsanam Zafarova (Uzbekistan) admitted in her speech. "All these years, my mother was always by my side. And today I proudly tell her: "I kept my promise and became a doctor!"
Elsayed Mohamed Abdallah Khaled (Egypt) expressed gratitude to the university mentors.
“Thank you for everything you have done for us,” he said. “Even though we may not meet again in life, the lessons and knowledge you have given us will always be with us. Everything you have given us is priceless. We have a long road ahead of us into adulthood. And we sincerely believe that you will continue to support us, and we will do everything to make you proud!”
On the occasion of the holiday, a creative association of students and residents from Morocco, Egypt, Benin and Côte d'Ivoire prepared a memorable concert.
