A delegation led by Abdin Farzaliyev, Head of the Executive Authority of the Absheron Region of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has completed a visit to the Astrakhan Region. Traditionally, the guests visited Heydar Aliyev Secondary School No. 11, laid flowers at the bust of national leader of Azerbaijani people in the lobby, and talked with teachers and students.
During the tour, Director of the school Tatiana Tikhomirova showed historical photographs of the renovation, which gave a new life to the old city school. She emphasized that the project was initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation with the financial support of the government of Azerbaijan.
The delegation members also saw a photo exhibition and drawings by schoolchildren about the friendship between Russia and Azerbaijan.
On behalf of Governor Igor Babushkin, Minister of External Relations of the Astrakhan Region Vladimir Golovkov greeted the guests, teachers, and students of the school. He noted that relations between Astrakhan and Azerbaijan, which were founded with the significant involvement of Heydar Aliyev, had been developing for years based on principles of friendship and understanding.
The Minister expressed his satisfaction with the close cooperation established by our region with partners in Azerbaijan.
Head of Absheron District Executive Power Abdin Farzaliyev called meetings with Governor of the Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin and members of the regional government, which took place during his visit, friendly and constructive.
In addition, Abidin Farzaliyev expressed his gratitude to school staff and parents for respecting Heydar Aliyev's memory.
Deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elman Nasirov, who visited the Astrakhan Region for the first time, expressed his warmest and most positive impressions of the multi-ethnic Astrakhan.
At the end of the meeting, held in a friendly and warm atmosphere, students presented musical performances for the guests.
