Governor of Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin expressed his sincere condolences in connection with the crash of the passenger airliner of the Azerbaijani company AZAL, flying from Baku to Grozny, near Aktau, Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to preliminary data, citizens of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia were among the passengers.
"I extend my deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims, and I convey my wishes for a speedy recovery to those injured in the plane crash," the head of the region wrote on his Telegram channel.
