Today in Moscow the Governor of the Astrakhan region held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov. He congratulated the head of the Ministry and his colleagues on their professional holiday – the Day of the Diplomatic Worker of Russia.
Igor Babushkin and Sergey Lavrov discussed the development of international cooperation in the region, noting that the key foreign partners are still the countries of the Caspian region, Belarus and Uzbekistan. The Governor said that by the end of 2024 the cargo turnover with Caspian countries was more than 6 million tons, which is 37% more than in the previous period.
«We are making great efforts to attract foreign investments into our region, promote our products to international markets, create new joint ventures, as well as load the regions port and transport and logistics capacities» - noted the Governor.
Sergey Lavrov noted the active and committed work of the Astrakhan Region in organizing events on the Caspian theme.
