The Caspian Wave International Competition will be held in Astrakhan in 2025

The Astrakhan State Conservatory and the Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University have organized the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Traditional and modern practices in the field of artistic and aesthetic education, musical art and performance."

The participants of the event were greeted by Rector of the Astrakhan State Conservatory and Honored Artist of Russia Alexander Mostykanov, Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, Head of the Department of Art and Pedagogical Education of the Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University Georgy Loiko and Chinese composer, lecturer at the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory Yang Jinpeng.

At the confrence, representatives of universities and colleges from five regions of Russia, as well as Belarus, Kazakhstan and China, highlighted various aspects of modern research in the field of art, music and education.

"The outgoing year was marked by the celebration of the 55th anniversary of our educational institution," said Rector of the Astrakhan State Conservatory Alexander Mostykanov. "Among the more than 3,000 graduates there are honored artists, laureates of prestigious international competitions from the Caspian Littoral countries, China, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and other countries."

In 2024 international events were held more than once on the basis of the Astrakhan State Conservatory. Among them are the L. Oborin International Piano Student Competition, the International String Instrument Competition, and the Kaspiy–2024 International Festival of Contemporary Art. At these, as well as at other events held at various international venues, students and teachers of the Astrakhan State Conservatory won prizes.

The international festival and competition schedule of the coming year also promises to be busy. Preparations for the II International Competition of Choral Conductors "Caspian Wave–2025" are already underway. It was first held in Astrakhan two years ago and brought together singing groups from more than 50 regions of Russia and Kazakhstan.
