Minister of External Relations of the Astrakhan Region Vladimir Golovkov and Minister of Industry, Trade and Energy of the Astrakhan Region Vitaly Schepin met with the CEO of Shanghai Manya Industry and Trade Company Maia Mang. During the negotiations, possible options for cooperation in the field of trade and industry between the Astrakhan Region and the People's Republic of China were discussed.
“We pay special attention to developing contacts with Chinese partners. An agreement on cooperation between the Astrakhan Region and Henan Province has been in force since 2008. There are six companies with Chinese capital operating in our region,– Vladimir Golovkov emphasized. – The Golden Industries Group company is registered as a resident of the Lotos special economic zone and plans to start production of carbon black, an ultrapure specialized carbon black from natural gas. We have a successful experience of cooperation with Chinese partners in the construction of solar power plants. Astrakhan companies have partners in China, with whom they successfully develop trade, increasing both exports and imports.”
Maia Mang spoke about the main areas of her company’s work, noting that her activities include importing equipment and components to Russia at the request of her customers, providing a full range of logistics services and advising on international payments.
Currently, the Manya Сompany supplies more than 260 products of 137 global barnds to Russia. The product range includes metalworking and laser machines with numerical control, electronic, server equipment, computing equipment, electric vehicles, consumer goods, components and spare parts for electrical and mechanical devices, and much more. The company's partners are representatives of the business circles of Belarus, Uzbekistan and a number of subjects of the Russian Federation.
Maia Mang announced her readiness to establish direct supplies to the Astrakhan Region of a wide range of Chinese consumer and industrial goods.
“We will assist in the activities of your company in the Astrakhan Region,” said Vladimir Golovkov.
The Minister of Foreign Relations also suggested that Chinese partners consider the possibility of localizing their production facilities in the special economic zone “Lotos”.

Later that day a meeting was held in the Astrakhan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, between the representatives of the business circles of the Astrakhan Region and the CEO of Shanghai Manya Industry and Trade Company Maia Mang.
The participants of the event got acquainted with the activities of this company, its experience in organizing exports and imports, including parallel ones from China to Russia, and the main advantages of cooperation with Chinese partners.
"We are confident that such meetings help representatives of Astrakhan business establish new contacts, which will further develop into a strong mutually beneficial business cooperation," said Stanislav Sinchenko, President of the Astrakhan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
At the end of the event, the participants were able to hold individual talks with Maia Mang and exchange contacts for further interaction.
