The All-Russian charity event Christmas Tree of Wishes has been launched in the Astrakhan Region. Astrakhan Region minister of foreign relations Vladimir Golovkov made the dreams of three young Astrakhan residents come true. To present the gifts, he invited the children and their parents to a New Year's performance at the Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theater.
Before the performance, a New Year's photo shoot was organized for the children and their parents, Veronika Sergeevna and Mikhail Vladimirovich Surikov, in the festively decorated theater lobby near a large Christmas tree shimmering with colorful lights.
Vladimir Golovkov wished the Surikov family a happy New Year, wishing them happiness, good health, and all the best. Polina, who turned 13 the day before, received a new tablet as a pleasant surprise.
“She's a really talented girl, she peels potatoes, cooks soup, and embroiders with beads,” her mother praised the girl. “My deepest wish is for Polya to get out of her wheelchair in the new year.”
The four-year-old Nadia also received the present from Vladimir Golovkov. Unfortunately, 12-year-old Diniil fell ill and could not attend the event, but he was given a tablet. All the children also received sweets as a gift.
The girls presented Vladimir Golovkov with a beaded painting made by hand.
“I would like to thank you for your attention, positive emotions, and wonderful gifts that will help our children in their creative development,” said Veronika Surikova.
Children and their parents watched the musical fairy tale “The Crystal Slipper”, which is based on the classic story by Charles Perrault about the kind, modest, and hardworking Cinderella, her stepmother, her wicked sisters, and the handsome prince. The story shows that good triumphs over evil, and that dreams can come true if you truly believe in them, despite all the challenges.
“The New Year is coming soon, a magical holiday when all of us adults want to bring joy to children. The Christmas Tree of Wishes campaign provides an opportunity to fulfill the most cherished requests to Father Frost,” said Vladimir Golovkov. “It is a great pleasure for me to be a part of this important campaign. I encourage all residents of Astrakhan to take part in it!”
