Astrakhan tour operators showcased the beauty of the Astrakhan region at MITT 2026.
Representatives of travel companies from more than 30 countries and 54 Russian regions participated in the 32nd International Tourism and Hospitality Exhibition MITT 2026 in Moscow. The heads of four tourism organizations in the Astrakhan Region, whose work is focused, among other things, on attracting international tourists, presented their projects and opportunities.
The trip to the international exhibition was made possible thanks to the support of the Export Support Center of the Astrakhan Fund for Small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurship.
In 2026, this microfinance company gained new opportunities to assist tour operators thanks to the implementation of the updated "Regional Export Standard 3.0" program, approved by the Government of the Astrakhan Region.
"Among other areas, the document provides recommendations for systemic support for creative industries and the tourism business," noted Yulia Golubkina, Head of the Export Support Center of the Astrakhan Fund for Small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurship. "The updated standards have allowed us to expand our responsibilities in supporting exporting companies."
Tour operators were assisted with payment of organizational fees and site design.
Astrakhan participants in the international exhibition emphasized ecotourism in their presentations. They offered international guests outdoor recreation and opportunities to explore the unique flora and fauna of Astrakhan during visits to nature reserves. For those seeking a more active holiday, fishing tours (in compliance with current regulations) and buggy and ATV excursions through the legendary Astrakhan dunes are available. A worthy addition to any trip is exploring the region's culinary traditions.
Experts currently consider citizens of Belarus and Kazakhstan to be the target audience among foreign tourists. Cooperation agreements covering various areas, including tourism, are in place between the Government of the Astrakhan Region and the leadership of several regions in these countries.
Furthermore, there is noted tourism interest in our region from citizens of the People's Republic of China. Special routes and offers will be developed for them.
