Book of Condolences opened at the Iranian Consulate General in Astrakhan

A Book of Condolences was opened at the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Astrakhan in connection with the numerous casualties and widespread destruction resulting from the unprovoked military aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran.

Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan Region Denis Afanasyev visited the Consulate General of Iran in Astrakhan, where he met with the head of the consular office, Ahmad Heydarian, and signed the Book of Condolences.

"On behalf of the Governor of the Astrakhan Region Babushkin Yu. and all residents of the region, I express sincere sympathy to the friendly people of Iran regarding the numerous casualties and widespread destruction resulting from the Israeli and US strikes against the Islamic Republic of Iran," he emphasized. "This unprovoked aggression against a UN member state is a gross violation of international law and threatens international security. We strongly condemn the barbaric assassination of the Supreme Leader of Iran Seyyed Ali Khamenei and other high-ranking officials, as well as innocent Iranian civilians."

Denis Afanasyev expressed his sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to all those injured, noting that the Astrakhan Region deeply sympathizes with the people of friendly Iran.

Today, Deputy Chairman of the Astrakhan Region Government Ilya Volynsky, Minister of External Relations of the Astrakhan Region Vladimir Golovkov, representatives of the Astrakhan Municipal District Administration, the Astrakhan Regional Duma, the Astrakhan City Duma, as well as of institutions and organizations from the Astrakhan Region, visited the Iranian Consulate General and left notes in the Book of Condolences.
