According to the operational data of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rosmorport, in January – February 2024, the total cargo turnover of the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya amounted to 928.8 thousand tons, which is more than twice the turnover for the same period last year (434.6 thousand tons).
The total cargo turnover of the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya continues to grow against the background of an increase in demand for the supply of goods via the International North South Transport Corridor. Thus, the transshipment of chemical products and fertilizers increased by 8%, polypropylene by six times, paper by five times, and grain by almost four times. Transshipment of imported goods has tripled, and export cargo has doubled.
Recall that the total cargo turnover of the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya in 2023 amounted to 4 million 477 thousand tons of cargo. The volume of transshipment increased by 51% in relation to the indicators of 2022. The number of ship calls increased by 21% compared to 2022.
