The Astrakhan enterprise plans to supply new products to Caspian and African countries
In the Astrakhan Region, a company resident in a state-supported industrial and production economic zone has opened an automated production facility for synthetic woven materials. The launch ceremony was attended by Vitaly Shchepin, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Energy of the Astrakhan Region; Alexey Aydin, Deputy Minister of External Relations of the Astrakhan Region; Andrey Nilimov, Deputy General Director of the management company of JSC SEZ Lotos; and Konan Koffi Leon, Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire in the Russian Federation.
During a tour of the facility, the foreign guest was told that the new line is equipped with automated extrusion and weaving equipment, enabling it to produce products in demand on both Russian and international markets — shade nets up to 12 meters wide, including double-layered ones.
They are designed to protect crops from the scorching sun and can adjust the degree of shading from 40 to 90%, making them adaptable to any farmer's needs: improving growing conditions for crops, increasing yields, or, for example, protecting animals from heat.
After reaching design capacity, the company plans to produce up to 8 million sq m of this product per year.
The launch of the new line is part of the expansion of the production complex: previously, through government-supported projects, the company increased its production of geotextiles for road construction and other industries. As a result, total capacity increased from 6 to 18.5 million sq m of geotextile per year.
The company plans to supply the new products to the Russian market, as well as to the Caspian and African countries.
